Perhaps you're right.
I didn't say they'd all get huge amounts of screen time, but I do expect at least a line or so in reference to the new troops.
I really hope that the Confederacy isn't dealt with in such a brief encounter. Palpatine needs a war to justify an Empire, and the Clone War will have been going on for a few years; it would be odd to see it end abruptly.
I am positive that Palpatine will proclaim himself Emperor in EIII. The prequels have been showcasing his rise to power the whole time, I don't see why they'd stop before the end. We saw him become Chancellor, we saw him take emergency powers, and we will see him become Emperor. I agree that he will only proclaim himself Emperor when his power base is secure...which will be during the Clone Wars in EIII. Realize that Napoleon III spent only four years consolidating his power, while Palpatine has been Chancellor for about thirteen years by the time of EIII.
No, the Jedi Purge won't necessarily be completed in the film, but the film will definitely convey to the audience that the Purge is successful (with a few key exceptions, of course) and will have finished soon after the film.
