Holonet

The holonet is a communication system used in Star Wars that allows real-time communication across the galaxy.

The infrastructure of the holonet is not defined: it is unclear whether some kind of network of repeaters is deployed across the galaxy or individual systems on a starship are capable of sending and receiving holonet transmissions unassisted.

The holonet is used for individual communications and news broadcasts. Transmission and reception appear to be simultaneous, regardless of distance.

Holonet communications can include audio, video, and holographic projects.
