USS São Paulo

CLASS: Defiant REGISTRY: NCC 75633 CAPTAIN: Benjamin Sisko

The Sao Paulo was a Defiant class starship assigned to Deep Space Nine to replace the Defiant after it was lost in the disastorus Second Battle of Chin'toka. Although it arrived at the station under the name and registry number of the Sao Paulo, Captain Benjamin Sisko received permission from Admiral Ross to rename the ship Defiant in honor of the lost starship.

The Sao Paolo went on to fight with distinction in the Dominion War and took part in the Battle for Cardassia Prime where the Dominion surrendered to the Allies and ended the war.
