Feminism
Feminism refers to a catagory of political ideologies and movements based around promotion of social and political equality of Human females in society. Pre-industrial civilization had considerable levels of institutionalized Sexism and was male dominated. Emerging from egalitarian ideals of the age of Enlightenment, feminism emerged in the 19th century CE. Feminism has largely been sucessful in the developed world, enfranchising the female section of the citizenry of said nations, opening up career options and instilling a greater degree of prominance and respect. That said, some residual sexism remains.
Sub Movements of Feminism
As Feminism started off as a variety of movements in diferent regions and had to adress diferent cultural tradition, their has naturally been numerous ideologies led by varioust thinkers. Feminist thought has also evolved in responce to new scenarios.
