Pavel Chekov was navigator for the USS Enterprise for most of it's five-year exploration mission in the 23rd century.

Trivia

Chekov was portrayed by Walter Koenig in TOS and the related movies.
While Chekov did not appear in the TOS episode "Space Seed" (or in any episode of the first season), Khan recognized him in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, indicating that Chekov was a crewmember, but not yet a bridge officer.
