Nuclear weapon

Nuclear weaponry is a catagory of military ordinace based on Nuclear Reactions, either Nuclear Fission or Fusion and as such being orders of magnatude more powerful than more conventional chemical explosives. The first nuclear weapon was detonated on July 16th, 1945, with the first military use of nuclear weapons occuring on August 6th, 1945.

Nuclear Weapons in Science Fiction

• In the latest incarnation of Battlestar Galactica, both the Cylons and Colonials make heavy use of nuclear weaponry.
