Quantum torpedo

Quantum torpedoes are more advanced in some way than Photon Torpedoes. They involve discrete packets of energy (Quanta) in some way (citation needed). In all other respects, they are functionally Photon Torpedoes with a different color glow. Fewer events use Quantum Torpedoes so hard calculations are difficult to come by.
According the non-canon TNG Technical Manual the torpedo's destructive payload is "quantum filament" (Whatever that is) and it's principle advantage over photon torpedos is that it can be fired immediately (Unlike photons, which require a moment before launch to be loaded with antimatter)
