Kinetic energy weapon

Kinetic energy weapons, also known as projectile weapons, are weapons that propel physical objects at a target to cause damage via the kinetic energy of their impact. Kinetic energy weapons range from improvised weapons like thrown rocks (including redirected asteroids) to advanced machines like railguns that accelerate shaped projectiles to many times the speed of sound. In real life, kinetic energy weapons are (at least at this point) far more practical than directed-energy weapons.
