An orbital defense platform is an armed satellite designed to defend a planet from an invading force.

  • In Star Trek, the Cardassian orbital weapon platforms in the Chin'toka system. (DS9 "Sacrifice of Angels")
  • In Babylon 5, the defense satellites around Earth. (B5 "Endgame")
