Lightsabre

Lightsabres are elitist melee weapons with some fairly amazing abilities. The average lightsabre was between 15 and 30 cm long when deactivated, and between .5 and aproximately 1 meter long when engaged. Lightsabres were capable of cutting through most common substances and flesh without slowing down noticeably. Dense materials, like Phrik or Blast Doors were able to slow them down, and cortosis was sometimes able to destroy the 'blade' completely. Lightsabres also were effective at deflecting other energy weapons-be they lightsabres or blaster bolts. The incredible reflexes needed to block blaster fire, however, mean that only force users are generally capable of this feat.
