Chewbacca (often abbreviated to Chewie) is a Wookiee and life-long friend of Han Solo. His favorite weapon is a bowcaster. Chewie died during the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Chewbacca had a family, including a son named Lowbacca who became a Jedi.
