Starfleet Academy is where all the personnel of Starfleet are trained. It is a highly prestigious institution for all fields of education.
It provides a rather comprehensive range of subjects, including the following:
- Ancient Philosophies
- Anthropology
- Archaeology
- Astrotheory
- Astrophysics
- Basic Warp Design
- Biochemistry
- Creative Writing
- Early Starfleet History
- Elementary Temporal Mechanics
- Exobiology
- Exochemistry
- Earth History
- Interspecies Ethics
- Interspecies Protocol
- Klingon Physiology
- Organic Chemistry
- Quantum Chemistry
- Statistical Mechanics
- Robotics
- Stellar Cartography
- Survival Strategies
- Tactical Analysis
- Temporal Mechanics
- Turn-of-the-Millennium Technology
- Transporter Theory
- Xenobiology
The course selection backs official rhetoric about Starfleet being non-military. William Riker studied galactic cultures and diplomacy at the Academy to further his one-time goal of commanding his own ship.[1] Wesley Crusher studies several subjects -- such as Latin and Creative Writing -- which have little connection to his primary Engineering curriculum.
