Wampas are a species of solitary apelike ambush predators native to Hoth. Wampas live in ice caves where they store food live and primarily hunt Tauntauns, but they will attack and eat other prey, including humans. Luke Skywalker was attacked by a Wampa just before the battle of Hoth.
