Warhammer 40,000 (commonly abbreviated to Warhammer 40k, WH40k or 40k) is a science fiction franchise created by Games Workshop based around a line of tabletop miniatures, but also including a line of novels, technical books and a few video games. The setting of this universe is the Milky Way galaxy in the 41st millenium. In this time, humanity is ruled by the galaxy-spanning Imperium of Man, which constantly fights a life-or-death struggle for survival with alien and daemonic antagonists.
