A Shadow Planet killer is a spherical array with a diameter greater than a planet used by the Shadows for massive planetary bombardment. When deployed, the array surrounds the target and launches thousands of gigaton-yield missiles, leaving an entirely cratered surface incapable of supporting life.
Despite Fiver wishes, there is no evidence that the weapon can actually destroy a planet; all known targets of Shadow Planet Killer attacks have remained whole, but uninhabitable.
