Nuclear weaponry (also known as Thermonuclear Devices and Atomic Bombs) is a catagory of military ordinance based on energy released from nuclear fission or nuclear fusion. Such weapons are orders of magnitude more powerful than more conventional chemical explosives. The first nuclear weapon was detonated on July 16th, 1945, with the first military use of nuclear weapons occurring on August 6th, 1945.
