Individual 'sectors' of SDN, these are usually devoted to one overarching subject of discussion or debate. Some, like Off Topic are actually a catch-all forum with no particular mission beyond that of a tavern or pub (if only forums had real beer, though!) , while others like Testing serve as a 'landfill' of sorts where spam and garbage go to die. Yet others like [Star Wars versus Star Trek], [Science Logic and Morality], and [News and Politics] serve as the 'engines' that drive SDN with spirited debate and discussion.
