A Cybernetic revolt is a scenario in which artificial intelligences turn upon humanity to seize control of the planet.
Cybernetic Revolts in Science Fiction
- The first instance of this was in Karel Čapek's Play RUR, although in the original depiction robots are not machines so much as artificial humans.
