The Borg Queen is a Borg drone that performs a command and control function on a Borg Cube or other Borg vessel or installation. Several of them have been observed, but they all look identical, suggesting that their organic components are all clones from one original source.
The purpose of a Queen in what is supposedly a collective intelligence driven by group decisions rather than a command heirarchy is unclear. It raises the possibility that Borg claims of unity in thought, identity, and purpose are greatly exaggerated.
