History
The USS Voyager is an Intrepid-class vessel that was assigned to locate a Maquis vessel that was commanded by Chakotay. The Voyager was assigned because the vessel's security chief had infiltrated Chakotay's crew as part of an undercover mission. During the mission, the Voyager followed the course of Chakotay's ship into an area of space known as the Badlands. While there, Voyager was pulled into the Delta Quadrant by the entity that came to be known as the Caretaker. The force of the Caretaker's array caused massive casualties to the crew of Voyager. They found Chakotay's vessel in the vicinity of the Caretaker's Array. Survivors of Voyager's crew were tranported to the array, and after they were analyzed by the systems of the array, crew members from both ships were found to be missing.
They followed a beam of energy being emitted by the array to the home planet of the Ocampa. On their way way there, they came across a ship junkyard, where they encountered Neelix and his cargo ship. He tricked them into assisting him in rescuing his girlfriend, Kes. Kes revealed that the missing crew members must be located in the Ocampa's habitat located under the planet's surface. The mission to rescue Kes also resulted in the Voyager crew's first meeting with the Kazon. Neelix caused extra trouble with the Kazon when he destroyed water tanks that Voyager had provided as ransom for Kes. Once they had rescued the missing crewmen, they returned to the array and found that the Caretaker was dying, leaving his array unoccupied. In order to keep the station out of the hands of the Kazon, Captain Janeway destroyed the array.
After a long journey through the Delta Quadrant, the Voyager eventually reached the heart of Borg space, where the Captain made an alliance with the Borg against Species 8472. After the Borg's inevitable betrayal, they added a captured a Borg drone designated Seven of Nine to the crew. They eventually found their way to a Borg transwarp hub. With the assistance of an Admiral Janeway from the future, they managed to both use the hub to return to Earth and destroy the hub. Thankfully, they left Neelix in the Delta Quadrant.
