Gas giants are planets composed primarily of fluid (liquid or gaseous) material. There are four gas giants in the Sol system (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune), and we know of over a hundred gas giants orbiting other stars.

Some scientists have speculated that in certain gas giants life could exist in areas that have temperatures similar to that of earth. The creatures of said planets being large floating balloonlike creatures.
