The System Lords were the ruling feudal class of most Goa'uld territory. The term refers to both individuals who held the position and to the collective group, which formed a loose organization for addressing external threats. As of late 2004 to early 2005, there were twelve system lords in the high council[1]. In early to mid 2005, the vast majority of the system lords were killed by the replicators when they began attacking the Milky Way[2]. The last system lord to be killed was Ba'al when he was finally captured in 2008[3]
