John Harriman was the captain of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-B. In 2294, he intended to take it on some trial runs. The ship recieved a distress call from the Lakul and another transport, both of which were carrying El-Aurian refugees. He took the Enterprise out to intercept the transports. He and his crew managed to resue 49 of the refugees before the transports were destroyed by the Nexus. Unfortunately, his ship was now also caught in the Nexus. Kirk eventually managed to break the ship free, but was himself left in the Nexus. Harriman would command the Enterprise-B for an unknown amount of time later.
