The second being use being a torture implement being able to inflict considerable pain when held in close proximity of the head of a victim. This mode can also be used to transfer information from one individual to another. Hand Devices can only be used by Hosts or Ex-Hosts of Goa'uld Symbiots.

Hand devices can only be used by present of former Goa'uld hosts. These are not weapons of war so much as defensive side-arms.
