KDY Lancer-class frigate -- was a starship in service of the Galactic Empire designed for starfighter defense.
Design
The Lancer-class frigate is a 250 meter long starship constructed by Kuat Drive Yards and in service by the Imperial Navy. Its primary role is starfighter defense, with 20 quad laser batteries for combating the starfighter heavy Rebel Alliance fleets. However the Lancer lacks any larger turbolaser batteries, so it is relatively ineffective against capital ships.
The standard operating crew for a Lancer is 850.
