History

During the Clone Wars, the Noghri homeworld of Honoghr had it's ecology ravaged when a downed CIS spacecraft crashed onto its surface. Years later, Darth Vader arrived on the planet and offered to clean up the Noghri's Homeworld in exchange for them providing soldiers for the Galactic Empire. To insure their subservience, the cleanup was purposefully delayed by the Galactic Empire.

Non-Canon

Noghri are an EU species from Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire novels. They were introduced into the Disney Canon in Star Wars: Rebels.
