Telepresence is the ability to project yourself to another location. While your body remains where it is, you are able to have senses and affect the environment in another location, as if you were in that location instead. This ability may be a result of psionics, magic, or technology.
Examples
- Luke Skywalker demonstrated telepresence in The Last Jedi, allowing him to appear to and communicate with people in a different star system. He was even able to give an object to Leia Organa.
- In Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker, Rey and Kylo Ren are able to communicate, exchange objects with each other, and even engage in a lightsaber duel when they are not in the same location.
- In TNG "Interface", Geordi Laforge uses his VISOR connections to operate a remote probe using telepresence technology.
