Rey is one of the main protagonists of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Background
Rey was orphaned on Jakku at an early age. Her parents left her in the care of a junk trader their to hide her from her grandfather, Emperor Palpatine.
On Jakku, she grew up as a scavenger, collecting parts from ships that crashed in a decades-old battle between the New Republic and the remnants of the Galactic Empire.
Personality
Rey is optimistic and self-reliant, but when first confronted by the possibility that she had an affinity for the Force, she was terrified. She accepted the calling after some thought.
Force Skills
Rey has no formal training in Jedi skills, but she seems to have a strong natural affinity for telepathy and some natural aptitude in telekinesis.
Paraphernalia
Growing up on Jakku, Rey learned to fight with a staff, and she typically carries a metal staff. She received a hand blaster from Han Solo, but presumably lost it when captured by the First Order. She also received a lightsaber that previously belonged to Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker.
