The Naboo Royal Starship is the personal vessel of the monarch of Naboo. The ship first appeared in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace as Jedi knights Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi were rescuing Queen Amidala and her entourage from the invading forces of the Trade Federation.
Ric Olié was able to pilot the ship past the Federation's Lucrehulk-class battleships in orbit around Naboo, blockading the planet. They did not escape without injury though. The ship's hyperdrive was damaged and was only able to limp to Tatooine, where -- after winning a bet or two -- a replacement hyperdrive was obtained.
The Sith Lord, Darth Maul tracked the ship to Tatooine and engaged Qui-Gon in lightsabre combat as the ship was taking off. Qui-Gon was able to leap onto the ship's still-open boarding ramp and escape.
The ship took them to Coruscant and, when politics failed, back to Naboo to confront the forces of the Trade Federation directly.
Features
Queen Amidala's starship was known to have defensive shields, but it never fired any weapons, so their presence cannot be confirmed from movie evidence. The Episode 1 ICS shows that the ship was unarmed. The ship is known not to have a cloaking device. Like many Star Wars starships, the Queen's royal starship is capable of atmospheric flight and landing on a planet's surface, using repulsorlift technology to operate in a gravity well.
