Scientology is an absurd religion invented by L. Ron Hubbard. Major tenets of the religion include the following:
- Humans are the physical embodiment of god-like spiritual entities called "thetans".
- Thetans are kept from their true potential by materialistic thoughts and memories known as "engrams".
- Undesirable engrams can be removed via a process called "auditing".
- Auditing costs a lot of money, which must be paid to the Church of Scientology.
Individuals who have been audited enough to remove many engrams learn that Earth's thetans retain a lot of engrams from past lives as space aliens captured and executed by the evil galactic dictator, Xenu.
