History

It all started with a rather successful RAR! thread by Zor on the subject of giving every established non-banned member of SD.net's board population access to a fully stocked naval warship . Eventually some people decided to use this naval power to go about pillaging, which spawned an enduring fad despite the lockage of the thread.

Members and Vessels

Vessel type is determined by post count. 50 to 1,000 posts means the rank of Commander and a Halifax-class Frigate. 1,001 to 2,500 posts garners the rank of Captain and an Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer. 2,501 to 5,000 gives the sailor the choice of a Ticonderoga-class Cruiser or a Virginia-class Attack Submarine and the rank of Vice Admiral. Those above 5,000 posts are granted the rank of Admiral and can choose between a Kirov-class Cruiser, a Wasp-class LHD, or an Ohio-class Ballistic Missile Submarine. Members of the Senate are ranked as Fleet Admirals and have access to a Nimitz-class Aircraft Carrier. Some of the junior officers have opted to swap their Halifax Frigates for Sachsen-class Frigates.
