The Sydney-class is a type of Federation transport. It was introduced in the late 23rd century, and remained in service well into the 24th century.
Physical description
The Sydney features a blocky main body with two nacelles of the same design as those on the Miranda-class. It possesses excellent sublight manoeuvrability superior to that of a Galaxy-class starship.
Ships of the class are exceptionally durable; USS Jenolan, despite being abandoned after a crash for nearly a century, was able to move under its own power with minimal repairs[1].
Operational history
Sydney-class vessels have been in service since at least 2294[1]. As late as 2375, ships of the class were seen ferrying personnel to and from Deep Space Nine<ref>DS9: Chrysalis]].
