'''C-3PO''' is a protocol [[droid]] in the [[Star Wars]] universe.  It provided translation services as well as interfacing with and programming devices such as binary loadlifters and moisture vaporators.

In the prequels, it was built by [[Anakin Skywalker]], and ended up on [[Alderaan]] with [[Leia Organa]] after having its memory erased.  In the original movies, it is owned (indirectly) by Princess Leia, and then by [[Luke Skywalker]].

Fluent in over six million forms of communication, it understands [[R2-D2]], [[Ewok]]s, and [[Hutt]]ese, and knows many expressions of dismay, regret, and resignation.
