Give Starcraft 2 a try. It’s a blast!
Zero Hour rocks.
The downside is that the graphics and processing power requirements are really high if you don’t want it to look like crap, and they forced all group play through their “always online battlenet” set-up. You can’t even do LAN games anymore, and they were one of the best parts of playing Starcraft 1.
I really enjoyed it for a long time, but eventually it grates on you. Particularly the multiplayer, which begins to feel like a chore since you have to grind and practice in order to become okay at it.
Have you played medieval total war 2 with the SS mod? (Don’t worry, is not that SS, it means Stainless Steel, and it gives the game a renowned strategic deep!
Funny coincidence; I recently re-installed M2TW Kingdoms and I installed the SS6.4 mod, so I’ve been playing it for several days.
By all means be sure to use the BRG sub mod! It makes the game even deeper by placing a chain of command onto your generals, of course, withing reason for modding.
I made a 12 years sub mod for it, but that’s not quite as popular because the game then extends for several thousands of turns…
I play Warcraft, although not nearly as much as I have in the past. If you try it out, be prepared to throw all productivity software in the shitter.
